Description Pair of Early 19th Century humorous hand coloured lithograph engravings, by Louis Leopold Boilly in gilt frames - notable for his satirical and genre scenes. (893B) Lithography as a printmaking technique was relatively new in the early 1800s, and Boilly was one of its early adopters. The two pieces, "Antique Dealers" and "Medical Consultants," are particularly representative of Boilly’s talent for observing and caricaturing French bourgeois life. These specific prints are part of a known series titled "Recueil de grimaces", published between 1823 and 1828.  #ArtHistory meets #AntiqueCharm Dimensions:38cm X 33cm
